Here’s some good news! If you are a local business owner in WNY, you NOW have the opportunity to be part of this advertising “co-op.”
We’re putting together a HUGE 9″x12″ postcard with between 14 and 20 ads (depending on the layout) from non-competing businesses, and we’re sending it out directly to the residents of our respective local areas throughout the Buffalo, NY area.
Because, when non-competing local business owners join together, advertising our businesses and getting the exposure we all need, is ridiculously low in cost.
I’m a local business owner just like you and I started the Shop Local Buffalo card. I wanted to help small businesses all over the Buffalo area, and honestly, myself included, get the visibility our businesses need—without spending a fortune. As the owner of a printing business in Depew, NY, I know how challenging it can be to get my business noticed by locals without spending all of my advertising budget at once. It’s very frustrating!
So here is what I’m doing…
I’ve put together this huge (9×12 inch), full-color, high gloss, two sided postcard that will be mailed directly to homes in our area. I’m calling it a shared mailer, meaning multiple businesses join together to share the cost of designing, printing, and mailing the card.
And, here is the best part… unlike coupons in an envelope or any of the other “coupon” mailers with pages, local residents are guaranteed to see your ad. Everyone’s ad is on the front page! No digital ad to scroll by, no envelopes to open, no pages to flip through. And, unlike the other options, I am only allowing one business per category on each card. That means you get all the attention in your industry, with no competitors on the same card.
Our 9×12 shared postcard makes it affordable for business owners to reach thousands of customers for under $0.06 each, all while keeping advertising dollars in WNY.

Why Keeping Your Customers Shopping Local Matters
For every $100 spent at a locally owned business, $68 stays in the community. Compare that to big-box stores, where most of the money leaves town and doesn’t support our communities.
When they shop local:
✔ They support their neighbors—business owners who live and work right here in Buffalo.
✔ They help create jobs—for people in your community.
✔ They keep our local economy thriving.
